02 Arena

What Can I say ? They have done a fantastic job on it. Went it was just plain simple old dome, it was nothing, just something you went on a family day out and came back thinking ... how crap is this ?

It now be dubbed "The Worlds most popular Venue" and why shouldn't it. At first glance it just seems like the dome with added restaurants and bars. But its more than that.

The arena is so easy to get to, and most bands groups tours go there as well :).

Everything from Kayne West to Spice Girls to linkin park.

And that's not all.. its a great day out for the family. Something which the dome could never do.

With shows as "Disney on Ice" And educational exhibits like Egypt pharaohs.

Special events like indoor ice arenas,

And now you can ski, snowboard at the arena as they have just installed London’s first ever indoor artificial twin ski slope.

So it seems like theres nothing they cant do wrong ?

and I would have to agree.

Now the clever people at 02 have created a new state of the art Night club. That's right you did hear me correctly. Now with such success from all the other projects it might sound like its too good to be true.

But I was very surprised to see that tickets prices are very low... most starting from £10-£15.

And the acts that they have are very nice :D

Artist such as Armand Van Helden, Justice ( expect to camp out for tickets as only now available at the door) DJ premier, Eric Prydz ( Pjano, call on me), Hercules and the love affair and Mr Scruff ( tea anyone)

Well love is a very complicate matter. Many question than need to be answered, but hardly any answers.

Again whilst looking for records up the west end I came across a promo of "The Presents" "Girls and Boys in Love".

Mostly they are all electro house, the hot Chip remix is alot more chilled than the others

Electro Indie..

Well its indie with electro beats. Now people like the black kids or "the twelves" remixes are the well more "known" ones.

But its something I do really enjoy, I have came to wonder am I a Hipster :O.

Music that you can kinda dance to. But its more of a shuffle while you drink and smoke yourself stupid.

Now it sounds like i am just slating it off. But I do actually enjoy it.

Indie can become so repetitive, the same down voices just plodding along the song. With some guitar background. I like songs with energy. POW.

and that's why I like Electro Indie, Electro Is very energetic. and there are some very good producer in this genre, So whats wrong with combining the two?

Which brings me to this.

Down at the local record exchange I recently managed to pick up some Kitsune Eps =).

Something which came to my attention was the "Miles from Nowhere EP" By the "Lost Valentinos"

Of course what compelled me to buy this EP was the fact that it was only £2.00 (yes really) and that a few names jump out at me, and I'm sure it will for you to, as it has a few songs on this Ep some of which are remixed by he likes of "bag raiders", "bang gang" and "Van She"

Do you just have to sit and watch television all day for TV Burp?

It’s not easy. My rule of thumb is that if I’m watching a well produced documentary, for example, there won’t be anything in it for TV Burp.

The best things for us are the soaps - for two reasons. The plots are pretty far-fetched and they’ve got such a fast turnaround that they can’t spend too much time polishing them, so they have to leave the mistakes in. And the reality programmes are always good.

Do you watch much reality TV?

No, but I’ve always watched Celebrity Big Brother, just because it’s only two or three weeks - you don’t have to invest three months. If you dip out of those things you kind of lose the plot.

Would you be tempted to do something like I’m a Celebrity?

I’m one of those people who doesn’t want to be seen walking around in my pants or pyjamas, and I think some things are sacred.

What’s the key to making TV Burp a funny programme?

It would be quite easy to repeat ourselves, but we try not to go for things we’ve done before. I think also that because of the team we’ve got, we’re all quite hard on each other about making cheap gags and gags that everyone makes. So we’re quite rigorous from that point of view. All the time we’re trying to out-gag each other.

Why did you change your name from Matthew Hall to Harry Hill. Do you ever feel that you have two different personas?

Well, it’s more showbiz. Yeah. It’s quite handy to have two names and two outfits – it’s like putting on your uniform to go to work.

Do your friends call you Matthew or Harry?

It depends how I met them. If they knew me before then they call me Matthew. The ones who I met from work call me Harry – for instance Al Murray calls me Harry even though he knows it’s not my real name.

You used to be a doctor. How did you go from that to comedy?

It was a number of things, but broadly being a doctor wasn’t really me. I had that thing – you may not have had it – where you don’t really know what’s going on. You don’t really feel in control of what is happening. In most walks of life that doesn’t really matter. But if you’re a doctor it’s probably quite important.

Are seriously lacking ?

I mean I remember the days when I could quite happy walk into a "footlocker or a JD Sports (UK)" and buy a pair of trainers a hoodie etc..

But they are so dry now!... none of there stuff have any flare, and imagination and are just poorly designed...

I guess they just don't cater for the serial sneaker heads anymore.. Thank god for size, otherwise we may not have any sanity left.

But once again have decided to get the ball going with the blog.

Now Spending the entire day blogging yesterday, something came to my attention.

After listening too all these "blog" tunes ( Which is the usual electro kind of stuff)

I realized it all sounds the same. Now a couple of months ago, I would have been over the moon with the electro goodness that was at hand. But now I have 100's tunes that sound exactly the same than all the electro tunes that are on the blogs today. I found myself just skipping past them. 

OK so Electro is still at its peak for the moment. But for me its just dying a bit. So Dubstep is already dying out, 4x4 bassline disappearing slowly into the mist.

So whats next? I expect Electro/ Electro House will stay in the scene for quite a while yet.. Thanks to producers like crookres, Digitalism,Crystal Castles and Designer Drugs.  (of course I cant name them all)

It will stay alive as long as the hipsters and blogsters require it so... 

Just with the feeling... Well there good. But its nothing i haven't heard.

Now I don't expect ground breaking breakthroughs on all these tracks, But I would like something so i can tell the difference between them all.

So ok they are cool. But wouldn't be anywhere famous if it wasn't for Kanye West.

But they aren't very functional are they ? Im all for things that look trendy etc.

But in all honesty they should come with a health warning.

Warning may cause User to trip unexpectedly
Doesn't protect against objects in the air. ( such as dust, bugs.)
May cause nausea in places that uses flashing lights ( discotec.)
Does not protect from the sun. This includes both Eyes can skin.

It's not a good look, having zebra type burns near you eyes.

I don't see why they haven't got clear glass in them anyway.

Well I do see people walking down the street with them.. How?
They are very hard to see where you are walking.

May be if you are trying to stay still.. looking cool. Maybe a one two step dance move. They are fine.

"Thought Shower" (rant)

Officials have now changed the term "brain storming" which is commonly used in offices, as "to brief on your ideas." to "thought shower"

Why?

Officials are now claiming that it is offensive to those for suffer from fits. The association found in this is that ,fits can become quite violent (like a storm) and come and go ( like a storm) what causes this is activity in the brain. And there we have "brain storming" .So ok its a long run to get to that point of why it may be offensive.

The fact is that no one would find it offensive. And if they do. I think they are being a little sensitive. Even a spokesman from the association that deals with fits etc. Agrees that no one would find it offensive when being used within a office.

It basically political correctness gone too far.

We are living in a world now we are supposedly have free speech. But in this day and age. When can we really say what we mean without it either offending someone or creating some kind of uproar.

I know that banning the word Brainstorming is only a small thing. But its what underlays it, thats important. That people have to be so careful of what they say, that freedom of speech can never really exist. It can only be an illusion.

Don't these officials have anything else better to do that pick at silly little issues. Maybe the fact that our economy seems to be on the fall, while inflation rises. Living cost keeps increasing, while minimum wage still remains the same.

but maybe thats an issue for a different post ..

Amy Winehouse.. Update.

Well the rumors that Amy as contracted Tb as came to light today. She has not got TB. She has a serous lung condition, from a result of smoking (with some other things as well).

Amy is responding well to the medication, and she will get better.. in time. But from a result she can not smoke.. at all. Otherwise it will get worse and will only result her in falling even sicker.

According to her dad, Amy is trying hard to give up. In his words " covered herself in Nicotine patches", that she understands the dangers.

But doctors have now said that she is well enough to do gigs. If she wants to. Maybe it would be a good idea to get some good well deserved rest.. and maybe some fresh air wouldn't go a miss.

Maybe this is what will make her turn her lifestyle around. But we will have to wait to see

The Curse of Kanye West

Ohh and the curse of Kanye West strikes again. Now Kanye west as done a handful for great songs some on his own some with great artist, some with struggling artist.

Now Kanye knows how to make a song good. Him.

But the curse is he raps on the artist song. Yay the song is a hit. But what happens after?

Well artist brings out there next single.. No kanye West rapping on it.. Oh it's a flop.

Same thing happens with Timberland, except in a few cases the artist may be able to make a few singles that do ok. Before dissapearing into the music black hole. Maybe to appear in a few years time.

Now We have all heard that recently that Amy hasn't been well. After being rushed into hospital after collapsing at her home in camden, It wasn't quite clear what was wrong. It is now a possabillity that she may have TB. This is due to her partying ways. By taking the drugs, she has lowered her immune system which makes her more likely to get TB.

Amy is such a talented artist and songwriter and is a shame that her downfall as became entertainment in it self.

But Amy success comes from her the heartache and the bad times. Listen to her lyrics and they are all about sad times, heartache. SO where would she be if her life wasn't how it is. Would she be able to have the feeling in her songs, without ever expreinced it first hand. Personally I don't think she would be where she is today and I mean in "star status". She would still be singing and dancing in small productions, just getting by.

But of course we all know that this life style is serverly affecting her health and she will soon become victim to it.

Her heartach and fame is her downfall, But without it she is nothing. It is a shame that such good talent, will come and go so quickly.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call to her so she can stick around.

Well Tedstock as come and gone, and we are yet to wait for another one next year.

This being my first one ,I had heard the hype and the seen trailer. I didn't know what to expect, and in all honesty wasn't looking forward to it.

But It was a very nice enjoyable night. The star of the show lil Kai With his smooth moves =). But of course he had to retire early on in the night.So Foxy took it from there.

These babies will be released May 31st.. in concept stores and will retail at $150.

These are limited to 200 pairs at first. Which includes a limited edition Box, Which comes with the rubber band ( seen on the trainers) a t-shirt, condiment box (which includes lobster shell cracker, fork, bib, an extra set of laces, and wet nap) and a poster, all put into a traditional paper bag used by typical seeford retailers.

The first 50 boxes will come in a Wooden box.

So Kanye West has finally decided to jump ion the band wagon and create his own clothing range. Well lets be honest it was only a matter of time.

Well the new range is called Pastelle. No idea why to be honest.

Well Kanye Loves the sunnies. These glasses became famous by him wearing them.

Well ok so they aren't very practical, but he doesn't care, he look fly =P

Well now to launch his clothing range he has teamed up with Ksubi, an Australian fashion label known amongst many celebrities. To make a pair of sunglasses that he just loves.

Which ones are the real ones =O

But hang on... I have seen these before. Urban Outfitters (usa) do a carbon copy of these and they were out 1st. To top that I brought ones from brick lane that cost me £5.00 each. (all different colours as well) Rather than the Big Price tag of $2000. (WHAT)

Ok so they have a gold frame. But They are nothing special and I wouldn't call them ground breaking or never done before.

It took years apparently, Well sorry I think that take out the gold frame and the "label" and you could sell them down the market for 2 pairs for £8.00.

Well the likes of hip stars everywhere have been seen with them rocking of their wrists.

They withstand pretty much anything you can throw at them. Casio Also make a baby version for the ladies ( but i prefer the normal ones) there are quite a few different styles and colours you can get. A few limited editions have also been made. Casio merged with Bape to make a hot combo.

Well now they are celebrating their 25th anniversary, and of course like any major brand does.. brought out a new range to celebrate with you ( they can just go on exclusive parties)

Well Cheap Mondays are one of my favorite brand of jeans. Here is a little background on them

The story so far...

It all started in March 2004 when the tight denim with the characteristic skull logo first hit the market.

But to tell this story correctly, we have to go back to November 2000 when Örjan, Adam and two of their friends opened a small second hand store in a Stockholm suburb. The store was called Weekend and was only open during Saturdays and Sundays. Despite its remote location, and thanks to a very good selection of garments, the store went well and the decision to team up with Lasse and open up a bigger shop in central Stockholm was taken. The store was a full-time concept, open every day of the week, and therefore got the name Weekday.

From the start they carried high-fashion and exclusive denim brands mixed with second hand clothing — a blend that attracted young, trendy Stockholmers.

Some of the denim sold in the shop was very expensive and Örjan felt there was a need for cheaper, but still fashionable jeans. The first style ‘Tight’ was born, at this point made exclusively as an in-store brand. An unwashed, very tight fitted stretch denim jean for a shockingly good price! It was an immediate success and the first 800 pairs sold out in a couple of weeks. The skull logo was made by their friends Björn and Karl who had helped them with the imagery for the store.

In January 2005, Cheap Monday was developed into a brand with a full scale collection and the distribution was extended to selected stores in Sweden as well as abroad. A new company, Weekday Brands, was established by the three companions Örjan Andersson (design), Adam Friberg (production and code of conduct) and Lasse Karlsson (economy and establishing strategies), together with Sanna Atldax (design), Karl Grandin and Björn Atldax (graphics and marketing). In April 2005 the first order for a non-Weekday shop left Sweden.

Our idea is still to offer the customer fashion at an extremely good price. We want to put Cheap Monday alongside more expensive brands, in good stores where we want to shop ourselves. We are aiming to create clothes that compete with high-end brands both in attitude and fashion-level as well as in quality.

Without traditional marketing but with a strong idea on how to present the brand, Cheap Monday can today be found in 28 countries and in 1000 stores all over the world. With agents and distributors in Europe, USA, Japan, Australia, Canada and The Middle East, Cheap Monday is now ready to take the next step as an international brand.
